4 Years ago I was looking for a project to spend some time with my 14 year old son. My wife almost died when I brought home this boat. The former owner had used it in salt water. The exhaust manifold had rotted through and filled the engine with salt water. He then parked the boat for a year before deciding to sell it. What a great project. My son and I rebuilt the engine and tranny,and repaint he deck. "Dad I’m never going to pick up another piece of sandpaper as long as I live", and learned to waterski. He is now a freshman at UC Davis on the waterski team and practices at Belle Aqua lake (Home of the Malibu Open). Last November I got a call. " Dad, They’re selling the lake boat... Cheap!" So now I have 2. The old one is great and has alot of memories but the 2000 Ski 196 is AWESOME! (UPDATE) I just sold her to a family I have known for years with a house at Tahoe. She will retire there. I know she will be happy
