I purchased this 1978 Ski Tique on April 28th, 2008 after finding it for sale on this site and close to home. I accidentaly found this site after I looked at another boat and the owner mentioned it was listed here. That boat didn’t work out but I found this site and that has been a wealth of knowledge for me. I had been patiently looking for a boat for about a year. Cosmetically it is in excellent shape. The gel coat has been re-done, new stringers and floor as well as carpeting and upholstery. The engine, which is a 351 Commander, is not the original and had replaced the 302. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt. It sits on an original Correct Craft trailer, (#2LB) that has been restored to new condition. Unfortunately, after I got it home I realized that the strut was bent. The previous owner claimed he didn’t know when I called him. Through the advice and support of members of this site I was able to diagnose the problem and repair it myself. The repair entailed removing the shaft and strut, having the strut straightened, and the shaft checked. I also had the prop reconditioned. While I was at it I also repaired the raw water pump and replaced some bad hoses. After some blood, sweat, tears, and a crushed finger I launched the boat for the first time on Saturday June 21st, 2008. The boat is running great. This is my first in board. I have wanted one as long as I can remember.
