Boat is currently for sale on eBay 2/23/2005.

I purchased this boat last July with the intention of doing the fiberglass repairs, painting the exterior and installing a new Crusader Captians Choice 5.7L v8. In the mean time we had a second child and I just cant seem to find the time to work on it. Its a solid hull and worth the time, unfortunatly for me, I dont have the time to complete it... I hate to let it go but have no other choice.

To date I’ve done the following.

1) Replaced the stringers from the front of the engine compartment back. Douglas fir 2x4’s were spliced in with a 7:1 scarf. The new stringers were then covered with 3 layers of 1708 bi-axial fiberglass and epoxy resin. They are strong as a rock. I sanded them as I was planning to put two more layers of 1708 on them but they could be painted and left as is, the extra strength is not necessary.

The original stringers were solid, I didnt reliize this till I cut the fiberglass cap to inspect why the engine mount bolts would not tighten. What I found was that the person who installed the second motor never hit the stringer with the engine mounting bolts. The fiberglass cap Correct Craft installs over the stringer (filled with foam) made the stringers look deceivingly large. The bolts were between the stringer and fiberglass covering them. The wood was wet so I decided to open it up, let it dry and reglass and thats whats been done.

2) Rebuilt the engine compartment bulkheads with marine grade douglas fir (df) plywood, df 2x4’s, df 2x6’s and 1708 bi-axial fiberglass and epoxy resin. Began filling the voids with two part polyurethane foam as from the factory. One side is complete, the other needs to be filled but is temperature sensative (i.e. 70+ degrees).

3) Repaired two deck hatches as the fiberglass underneath was crached. Re-glassed them after grinding out the cracked glass.

I have lots of parts for the completion of the hull. They can be purchased with the hull for a very reasonable amount of money. They include a brand new leaning post, all stainless steel hardware, and lost more.

Email me if interested.

Oh by the way its been stored out of the water under an enclosed canopy for the last year plus so its dry and ready for work.
