It's not missing Tony, just at a funny angle. When you go to post, you have the 3 choices Post Reply,Preview, and Clear Form. Before you post clik on Preview, another box opens and you can see how your posting will look. You can also open any links to make sure they work too. If you were closer I'd say get it as long as you know it will need work, and you'd be willing to do it.It also says best offer too. It would be a long drive to look at something that does not meet expectations.

Okay, so we have established that a missing pylon is a pretty good indicator of a stringer job needed.
So Pete,do you know the boat? |

[QUOTE=8122pbrainard] I do remember him asking questions about doing a stringer job since they were pretty much gone.

I think I know where this boat is but never saw it in person. I connected with the owner via CCfan years ago, never met him in person and then lost track of him. I do remember him asking questions about doing a stringer job since they were pretty much gone. Hey Tony, You need some practice on your linking!! I always try to use the preview feature to check before posting. |

I can hardly wait to see what I am getting into. This Mustang is so different from my Southwind. The Southwind is a flippin' battleship compared to this little Mustang.
The Southwind is big, strong, heavy and smooth. The Mustang is little, spunky, and seems to make the most of a little bit of horsepower. I had a 350 powered Southwind 20. 260hp. I would go about 40 or 42. It was nice, but my 440 just muscles that monster out of the water. Hmmmmm What would a 440 do in a Mustang...hmmm... |

Gary,
So I see. So I should invest in a lot of Bayer aspirin for rough water? Is that a freon horn I see? Naughty, naughty releasing all those CFC's |

Gary,
Shame. That two lever control adds a little more class to an already classy boat. When I was a kid, our 1960 Crestliner with its 1961 Johnson 75hp had a two lever control. How does your Mustang ride? Tony |

There are only 3 in the diaries, one has a new owner so it is
double posted.Mine is really a 69 and Johnb parted another 69,here is his. Tim Benjamin may have located another and there was one more that was posted here in the begining of the site that recently turned up on ebay much worse for wear since it was on here. If anyone out there has one please post it to the diaries. Outside they look no different, inside they all have console with twin stick control, but many have been converted over to a single gunnel mounted control. The one Tim had a line on Ebay boat |

Doc,
I may have a deal closed for its acquisition. I PM'd Pete to see if he knew anything. I live in STL so it's not a bad trip for me. What's the story on your 302? Holman Moody? What year? I am a Ford guy at heart and have some pretty vast knowledge of the old Ford Windsor small blocks. Tony |

No, I was about to ask you the same.
I was sitting here last week, thinking my 302 would sound good in the Peterson '73 But, I would have to ask Pete to drag it to Chicago, then someone else to drag it to St.Louis or KC etc,,, etc... I emailed for more photos, but didn't hear anything. Anyway, Wife wants a Marauder, kids want a Martinique. Looks like it ('73) has a lot of potential. If you need a 302 for it let me know. |

Doc,
My concern is that this boat has the "Poly" 318 known as the M318 as opposed to the LM318. The LM (or Light M) was not a "Poly" engine. |

Billy, Only 4 SS's in the diaries, all 1968 including the real pretty blue one.
318's were quite common in '73's Would this be the "Peterson Mustang" from Pete's summer neighborhood? |
