I bet it ends up going higher then that. It's a bid of 5500 and there's two days left.

There's a chance I'll be driving through Brattleboro VT next week to look at a truck for work, if so I'll try to see that Atom. No interest in it myself.

I mentioned to my wife a couple days ago that I'm thinking about restoring an antique boat. She wasn't impressed but she didn't say no... technically. This boat looks like its in descent shape for a great restore. Especially for $1,100. She did say that she wants a new yukon before I start the project. I guess I'm looking for a new vehicle so I can get to New Hampshire before one of y'all do.

On a serious note, how hard is it to get parts for that engine or possibly a new block if it came down to it?

Mostly-original (??) looking 50's Atom Skier in New Hampshire - it at least has a manufacturer tag with the serial, that's a great start. Has an engine, unknown status, stored over 30 years. But the price seems right! If I was looking for a project... however I think my wife would not be impressed.

That kind of boat I would do piece by piece or install some tie bars before destruction.

Should be an easy stringer job, just piece together some 3/4" indoor plywood with elmers glue and call it good.

Seriously, wonder if under-floor work could be done without removing the flybridge and cabin roof. It would be an epic project for sure. On the unlikely chance the stringers are good it would be a fun boat for someone. Nice to have the option of getting under cover in the cabin or being up on the bridge in a 24' boat.

The first San Juan I saw was an SJ Flybridge which was rotting on our lake for a couple years until it rotted in a boat yard for another couple years. Neat boat; HUGE project.

Or who's going to buy it and do a stringer job on it!

Yes, take a look in the 1975 brochure and there's a couple of pages on the San Juan Flybridge. The one in the brochure has twins, that would be very cool.

For that price, including trailer, someone needs to snap it up.

I would sell the platform and the hard ballast left in it and trash the hull. I'd like to have that trailer though!! Unless I could convert all my stuff off of my sport over into it for cheap which I don't see how that could be done. That's a lot different of a boat not to mention being a v drive.

My first truck was a 57 GMC dually step side bed . I wanted to make a flatbed out of it, so I filled it up with garbage, took it to the dump, paid $13 to dump it and when we were dome unloading it, we unbolted the bed and left it there :-)
I should have restored it, had I realized the value of a step side dually bed at the time,

I also cut stuff into pieces and put them in the garbage can, 1 piece at a time

you might be right... quite the optical delusion anyway : HW, I agree that the platform and ratted out trailer are worth the asking price, even if you had to scrap the hull. Your dump rates are about half of what I pay as a city resident... its more if you don't live in the city, and more still at the county, so it could add up pretty quick for some., especially depending on how much dirt it takes to grow stuff in the bottom

i heard of a guy here recently that needed to get rid of an old hot tub so he chopped it up and would put parts of it in the normal trash every week. Took two months to get rid of it all but it worked. On a more serious note, I wish it wasn't so far away. I'd go look at it.
