Brendan,
Thanks for posting the pic.
Some people thought I was nuts to buy a place so close to our home. We live on a lake (Tull Lake) that only allows 90hp outboards. White Lake is a 540 acre lake that allows virtually any boat. It has a great restaurant/bar with a huge lakeside deck. There is also a party store on the lake. Many people in our area, SE Michigan, have cottages "up north". This is our "up north" cottage, but it's only 8 miles from my house and 4 miles from my business (actually between our home and my office).
If you haven't noticed, the price of gas is a little high, so instead of driving 4 hours to Traverse City or Cadillac, we can be at the cottage in 10 minutes.
CCFans are always welcome and White Lake is public access. So if anyone is coming through SE MI, let me know.
Steve

Super nice set-up! I think it needs the stripes from your boat painted on the retaining wall.

I think you made a smart move with prices and the market as they are...no wasted time in getting there!

I do think you should have looked for a shorter walk to the dock?!!? And what kind of trees are those in front of the boat?

Steve,
Looks like a rough life, but somebody's gotta do it!    NICE!

But, would it have been cheaper to get 90
hp decals for the valve covers of that BB ?

Buff,
We closed on the place at 10:00am on Friday morning, July 25th. I found and bought the dock at noon and by 2:00pm on Saturday, we had the dock in and the hoist floated over from my brother-in-laws house where I was keeping the boat. He lives across the bay. That picture was taken less than 30 hours from closing. During that 30 hours, the girls cleaned the place and we trimmed up all the trees and ran them through a huge chipper. We filled my dump truck twice with bushes and chips.
62,
I thought about clamping my Minn Kota trolling motor on the back of the BFN. My wife thought the neighbors would be suspicious when 4 guys were footing behind it.

Congrats, that is very cool.
And there is nothing crazy about 7 miles. Sublimely brilliant if you ask me.

With all the huge and expensive lake property out there, you sir, have exactly what is needed. A little piece of shoreline and a big peace of mind.

Thanks guys!
You would not believe how relaxing it is. With the pines and the smell of the camp fire, it feels like we're hundreds of miles from home. I even go over there at lunch to take a break from work. But I"ll be carefull not to do it on Friday, because I don't think I'll make it back to work.
You are all welcome to stop in. The boat will always have gas and the fridge will always be stocked.

I'm not sure what you mean by a "beer miester", but the Kegorator will be there shortly.

James,
Don't tell anyone, but I'm already planning the boat launch. It might be just a coincidence that my company produces precast boat ramp planks.

Eric
I was wondering how we went through the last keg of Oberon so quick.

Steve
It is better than I had planned. The proximity to our house and my business is so convenient. We were out there last night for a birthday gig for my boys. They were using the boat into the night so I didn't have a chance to pull it out for our race this weekend. I went by there this morning, on my way to work, to do some measuring for a door to the shed. At lunch, my wife and I are going to pull the boat. It works out very well.

Ok so I have stood by watching from the sidelines, but I can stand silent no more.
This charade has got to end.
Some of you may find what I am about to reveal hard to believe,
Some of you may think this is some kind of a joke,
And I am sure some of you will accuse me of being a liar.

Well here it is..

TULLFOOTER IS NOT WHO HE SAYS HE IS.

TULLFOOTER IS A POSER!!!

I know you have all read his numerous posts on.

Show Skiing

Barefoot Endurance Races

Very Specific Maintenance Regarding One Barefoot Natique or BFN as he calls it.

Well the true is , TULLFOOTER is not a barefooter or showskier, he isnt even very mechanically inclined.

The truth is TULLFOOTER is a um.

TULLFOOTER is a .

             TUBER!!!!

Yes a Tuber!

I know you dont want to believe it.
You think after over 700 posts, this cant be true.
Not this man!!!
The man who's posts helped me when my Correct Craft was running a little sluggish.
The man who gave me pointers on "Barefooting"
How, How , How can this be true?
But it is true TULLFOOTERS true love is TUBING and I have photographic evidence.

Now what I am about to show you is a true untouched photograph of what TULLFOOTER truly lives for. This rare photo was taken just last week as Burning Soles pulls away from the dock at TULLFOOTERS new cabin on white lake.

Some of you might want to turn away.

This is not pretty..

Yes you can see Burning Soles clear as day pulling a tube.

I am sorry to be the one to expose this, but the truth had to come out.

I hope this doesnt wreck anyones week end.

Especially you Tullfooter, just before your big weekend at your clogging endurance compitition at Shipshewana   Indiana.

And dont even get me started on Waterskier2007!!!

Could it be true? Could Tull have actually been perpetrating a hoax greater than the "great hull ornaments hoax" for all these years? It is so hard to believe, yet photos just don't lie. (on the other hand, I guess the photos lied in the great hull ornaments hoax??) Oh my, you just don't know who you can trust any more.
