We, the 4 of us, ate in the restaraunt. I think they were a little overwhelmed, and at the time I didn't realize how big a deal the fish fry was either. It worked out well, they gave us a table if we could be out in an hour whick was ok as we didn't want to be inside long anyway.
Maybe next time Dave just ask,I know some of us come a ways but we could help with something.

Great suggestions guys... Friday has certainly been a challenge to organize ever since year one. Each year the group grows so much that we're forced to start over. We thought the golf course wasa beautiful setting for the boat being displayed, but yes it certainly added to the thrill logistically on all fronts...

As for the food, unfortunately I don't think it came out loud and clear that the brats were billed as a small appetizer, not a dinner. Same with the beer.. We havn't typically made full meals on Fridays. Last years brat fry came out pretty good, but most of you went and ate after that anyway, so we backed up a bit and took a different look at it.... We were told that the kitchen at the CC could handle all of us, certainly that was not the case....

We'll be back at it trying to figure out how to make the experience a bit less stressful for all of us, trust me when I say that... In the meantime, please keep the suggestions coming. They really do help, and thanks again for coming this year. Me and my family had a blast spending time with you all !!!!

Yes, it would have been nice to have a couple of porta-johns down closer as I had to walk up to the clubhouse a couple of times too. I'm sure others that are getting up in age like myself would appreciate it as well. I used to be able to down a six pack and visit the mens room once. Now it more like one beer and visit the mens room six times!!! Still, I didn't feel it was a major inconvenience.

Maybe the CC can get us a couple of the porta-johns?

I'll second that. On top of that, simply more food. I don't think whoever was cooking counted on that many people, should be better next year. Brats could've been way better, too. MMMM beer brats. Cheddar brats are good, too. And you can't boil them, gotta grill.

Now that's funny!

Just my imput on the whole Friday thing from another newcomers view. I thought that the event on Fri night was great.Got the chance to meet a bunch a guys whom I can now place a face with their boat. The way the boat show was organized was a great idea and it's still amazing how they got so many boats in such a small area w/o incident. Yes the weather was crappy but in truee CCF style we all made the best of it and made it happen. This Georgia Boy jokingly complained about it all weekend but I know full well that God is in charge of that and it's up to him to decide what weather we'll have.

Two suggestions that I would have is One: better access to the restrooms as I had to go through the kitchen downstairs to get to one and getting some oddball looks from the staff.

Second: I would like to see maybe an alternative menu item for the kids. This event is supposed to be a bring the wife and kids event so have something other than "Brat's and Beer" for those who can't or don't like them. My girls tried the brats but didn't care for em. How about a few Hot Dogs and maybe some soft drinks for those who cannot drink the "adult" beverages.

To the organizers I thank you!
You volunteered, and were not paid to do any of this but gave it your best and extended some "Northern" hospitality to a large crowd of fellow fanatics.

By they way Sydney(13) and Tamara(10) on Sunday said "Dad I don't know if we'll be back next year cuz we aren't having a real good time." but they changed ther minds after we decided to stick around til Monday and the Sun came out and they both were able to get in the water which is why we ALL we there in the first place.

I agree that getting the chance to meet CCF members face to face and seeing all those boats was the reason for being there! Great idea in letting the golfers and other patrons know that we are going to mix things up a bit will help!

Thanks for responding!

Scott, I believe you were simply in some patrons way and he was pissy for whatever reason. The club owner didn't get word out through the Chamber early enough to really let the regulars know what was going on that night. We obviously caught them off gaurd with 50+ boats all over the place. If we decide to return next year, the owner of the club will help by advertising earlier and reconfiguring the traffic so we can coexist with the golfers and fish fry people without much interaction.

Bruce,
Lobster and brats sound great! Keep that grill going for whenever I get out east and visit.

Gary,
I though you were going to clean off the seat to your truck so John can come over too! I'm just waiting for my manager to get off vacation so I can call her and see if I can get a update on a new drop. It's only faulted twice since Saturday when the lineman switched me over to the orange orange/white pair!!

Pete, now I am being insulted. While I did not know what a brat was until last year, I can cook them as good as the best of them. You got to come to me for lobster and brats!

Well I think I remember that one guy told him that he'd need help to replace the drop.

Not that I know of for sure but I am figuring it will be the same weekend as this year. Looks like we will have camp the last week of July which means I will have to go to Tennessee a week earlier so I can be back for the camp.
I posted on the AT&T thread...know what is going on for Pete?
BTW; thanks for the contract update.

We traveled 2800 miles round trip dragging our '80 behind and it was worth every turn of the wheel. It was even worth losing furthest traveled just to meet Lewy and Jo. Sure the weather was not what we would have asked for but it was about seeing all you guys and meeting a few new....like Chris and Pauly and his boys. Special treat...sleeping with quinner....and Maddie. Had to keep an eye on the wonder dog.
Moj...you, Alan, Steve and your familes and crew do a wonderful job. You know it, the numbers prove it, nothing more need be said.
Just hope we can make it again next year. Had a Work Camp meeting today...looks like a conflict. Might not pull the boat all the way there tho just to be in the show. Friday night was great, just like all aspects of the weekend. Thanks Pete...I was sure those brats were not just right. I'll be happy to sample them again next year!

Man,

I think it was a blast Friday night, just have to do some things different next year. But hey that's how we get better !!!!

I think the golfer's got mad because: I charge them for parking and made some side money..hehe

But all in all I had a good time.

Hey, I even got to drive a golf cart. Kytom usually takes the keys if I get close enough to drive. Something about the golf course would ban us if I ever got behind the wheel. I don't think I hit anything?

I guess from the golfers point of view, were they informed that a bunch of people were making their way into their Friday night golf activities with about sixty boats and a couple hundred people. I would have hoped that they would have been informed that this could cause some issues during their use of their golf course! I would suppose that many of the CC golfers would find it difficult in making a connection between golf and Correct Craft boats.

Being a first year participant we had no idea what to expect, but just hope that it works out well in the future. Finding a place to stage sooo much activity and sooo many boats is difficult in it's self a huge challenge and I appreciate the effort at trying to find a location to have such a large gathering. Thanks to all those who have put in the effort at trying to locate a place so that all of us can meet and exchange ideas and thoughts about our prized boats!

We use to do a Southern Minnesota reunion and have always struggled in finding ways to keep those who brought the boats and those that were using the lake for other activities happy.

Keep in mind that economically this helps the region of Green Lake. We rent rooms, buy gas, food and much more! As this grows, some might count on our participation to help stay in business.

Well don't fly into ATL.

Amy got busted in the security line at MKE because of a perfume bottle she missed. They were so much nicer to deal with than our folks in the southern hub. The difference is guilty until proven innocent at Hartsfield. Go Wisconsin! Not so sure about the road marking thing though.

Oh yea...you don't want to do the river run; way too much fun to share!

I really think that this is how the site works best. There has already been new ideas and suggestions to make next year better than ever. I guess that more than some of us had a "why are you here" and "you are in the way" feeling from those that expected just golf carts, clubs and seeing their friends and play the front nine!
