OK, GL is shaping up nicely. Great to see some people register for the first time !!!! The midwest, especially for the first time Wisconsin will be well represented...

For those who have registered but have not but your boats in the diaries, please do so. There there a few reasons why...

1. It help put names to boats !!!!
2. It allows us to finish the boat ballots out right so we remember who we are voting for, especially after the boat show...

So please get a shot of your boat and get the ID entered in the registration so we can see what you're bringing...

Thanks

                    Hypothetically Speaking:

If one was to come, and not bring his most prized boat, but brought pictures instead, would he still be eligible for awards?

Thought that would get someones attention

It took about a year.......Wasn't until someone happen to be on the Monster Tower Web. site and seen the picture of a Malibu I think with those girls on them......Pretty easy swap.

The awards are not what i go to GL for!! it's all the people and a chance to see ALOT of cool Boats on the water!!!

Paul,
from my poor memory, you can thank Pat Allen for finding the truth!
and I agree, its not about the awards...its the "rewards" of seeing everyone and the boats! But, hey, facts are facts... your boat is class... even without the girls!

Well buzz the mutha up... So far nearly 40 boats and 120 plus fans already on the hook. 10 different states, 3 different countries represented. Boats from 6 decades. Pete is bringing the Atom out and it is a work of art.   What more could one want.. grudge match racing of slow boats.. yep got that too... What else you need Kristof, you let me know I will pull some strings...

Last minute my son wants to go to green lake. Is this still possible? Where do I start looking for a place to stay?
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

BTW, time to get some info on the drive from Chicago to GL for us forreigners...
Did some research on Google Maps, but one can not have too much info...
Just sent a mail to the Illinois Tollways to ask them what it's gonna cost me. A guy's got to get his vacation budget in order...

Any advice on the best way to make that trip? Any possibility to avoid tollways, without making it too difficult...? Roads Roger and I should avoid?

Feel free to make an elaborate description on the best route to take!

Kristof; I drive that way almost every day. Toll charges will be $2.30 USD one way, and it will be two stops. The first one will be $0.80 and the second one will be $1.50. Stay in the right lanes to pay with cash.

The best route is to take I-294 West (North) it is very well marked leaving O'Hare, follow the signs to Wisconsin. I-294 will merge into I-94, then stay on I-94 all the way to Milwaukee. If you need to purchase anything, I would wait til you get to Wisconsin the sales tax is less and then you don't have to worry about extra tolls getting on and off the interstate.

Once you get to Milwaukee, watch for the I-894 West exit, you want to take that. It will be just past the airport in the middle of a bunch of construction. Stay in the left hand lanes as you get close to the airport and you will be fine. Once on I-894, follow that and it will run into US-41/45, basically you will stay straight, as other traffic exits to back to I-94. Then just stay on US-41 (Slight edit, you want to stay on US-41) all the way to Fond-du-Lac, WI where you will exit on WI-23 west bound (also labeled Johnson St). Here at the end of the exit at the traffic light you will take a left hand turn. Follow WI-23 all the way to Green Lake, WI. You can turn left at County Road A or follow the Business Route 23 right into town.

Have a safe trip, its an easy ride. Feel free to call me +1 262 909 2888 if you get lost, or any others I am sure would be happy to help. Looking forward to meeting you!

It is possible and recommended, places to stay are likely still available but if you can't get or don't desire a real a roof over your head simply bring a tent and some sleeping bags, Mojo has absolutely guaranteed good weather this year so you probably want to be outside anyway. I would assume the campsite isnt yet fully booked but if it is we can probably find an extra spot there.
