   Question:

I have used the 3" wire reinforced marine Exhaust hose in the past.

Although it has the wire the bend off the 351 PCM manifold to the under the rear floor created a kink ??

Is the wire reinforcement necessary or do others have success using the standard no wire hose. 

Price difference is pretty good.

Lowest price I have found is SKIDIM.com

	I used mandrel bent stainless pipes to make those corners. I think you do want to use the wire re-inforced hose, there is a reason the make it. My hose and pipe connections in the Mustang are under a permanent floor so I have to be really confident in them. They are double clamped and double checked about a hundred times. If you are leaving that channel where the exhaust goes accessible, there is no reason to not use a pipe to keep it in-kinked. I plan to leave my SN exhaust accessible. CC used copper 90*'s under the floor in that boat.

	Wire reinforced is better than softwall, but it will still kink if you try to bend it. You want the corrugated wire reinforced- thats meant to take some decent bends. No kinks! The only reason you would need hard 90deg fittings is if you have low, rear exit exhaust manifolds, and a tight space to get them down under the floor. Mike's Interceptor powered Mustang with log manifolds is like this, but the PCM Fords are not. By the way, the corrugated hose is smooth inside, so it flows as good as anything.

	if your using the corrugated hose and it kinks on you then it's a shade too long the majority of the time. But if you are limited space wise as Tim points out then a couple 45's usually take care of it. I wouldn't use 90's unless you absolutely have to, most don't need them and 45's work fine but not all.
