I need some help on the channel next to the engine where the floor meets the stringer. I've posted the pictures that I have been using as a guide on my rebuild. Don't know whose boat this is.
It looks like there is a channel next to the stringer and the floor and the plywood comes over to it.
Does anybody have any pictures that show what this should look like?
                                      Thanks, Monty

I still am not getting it. The areas I am talking about are circled in red. I just don't see how it went from 1st picture to the second. Is there another 2x next to the main stringer that the plywood comes up to?

Is that channel made for water drainage to the bilge or better engine access?

Monty,
Where did you find those pictures? On site? If so, get a link posted to the thread. Wondering if he mentions the reason he dropped the main stringers forming the channel. I don't know why they are there. They look to far forward for the engine/trans mounts and they are typically full height there.

Thanks Pete
I found a link somewhere on this site that took me to here photos. The pictures I am referring to are under floor construction but you can also see in the carpet group. Have to go to work now. Monty

they are both the same in that area if you look at it closely. But it is for the motor and tranny mounts to sit a little lower on top of the 2x10
