Overall height of 1/2” (2mm/1mm pins) is way too short, unfortunately. I believe they were 1” overall (1/2”-1/4”).

The rolls of pinstripe I got were both 150 ft. That was cheaper than two 50 strolls each that I would have needed.
Where did you find the strip w/ both stripes? Older stock? I never could find it on a single roll and had to get them seperate |

I feel like an ass now because this could do a couple boats, I never looked at the length. Do you think it's really 150'?. I got it from MWCC a couple years ago, shortly before they closed up. I'm going to put it a couple ziploc bags to hopefully keep it fresh. It will be a few years before I do some cosmetics.

Applied all of my decals today finally. Talked the wife into doing the pinstripes for me, she has a much steadier hand for that type work than I do. Everything came out good, still letting a few pieces adhere and dry out some before I peel the transfer film off.

Yea, that helps. I have the stripes on order, and had to get the 1/2" and 1/4" stripes seperate.

I had someone come over and do mine. They do auto work around town at several car lots and came highly recommended. Instead of the stripes coming on the same roll they had to apply each stripe seperately. I also went about a 16th of an inch bigger in order to help cover up some of the shadow ghosting. I originally thought that you would start at the transom and end there on the other side but that wasnt the case. They joined it up front. Did such a great job that you really cant see it. With the contour of the front of the boat I really dont think that you can start at the transom and end at the transom on the other side. Hope that helps. |

Thanks Randy. I'm in the final stages of wetsanding so the swim deck and everything else is already removed. I was going back and forth on whether the bow or somewhere on the transom would be better to terminate. I'll follow your advise on using the bow. I expected to have to trim the intersection.

Chris,
Yes, each stripe was one continuous stripe all the way around the boat. Be sure to have you swim platform removed. Similar to the factory application, I found the best way to hide conceal the stripe start/stop was at the bow of the boat. Recognize I needed to trim/cut the tip of the stripe at the intersection of the stripe ends. I didn't use a helper, however it helped to unroll the pinstripes in the general direction of application keeping the tape off the floor. I used the ghost outline of the previous pinstripe shadow to exactly match the new pin stripe lay out. Don't peel off too much of the backing until you are sure you can apply the section of pinstripe in a straight line. Also do not apply pressure to the tape until you are sure it is correctly aligned. (I believe most of the manufacturers use pressure sensitive tape). Actually I found the vinyl tape rolls for the boat was easier to apply than the 1/8" reflective pinstripe (e.g. prone to stretch if you are not careful) used on the trailer. I will post photos later today, illustrating the application of the separate pinstripe rolls. Randy |

I have a few questions for you guys that redid your pinstriping.
Was each stripe a continuous piece all the way around the boat? or was it broken up as a seperate piece for each side? Where does the pinstripe start/stop, how does it terminate to hide the junction? Anyone do theirs themselves? I'm thinking with a helper I should be able to do it myself, and if not, I'll peel them back off and I'm jsut out the $ for the roll I wasted and a little time. |

Tim, Thanks for the correction, as always you are wealth of Correct Craft knowledge. Should the AWSA decals be gold background with blue print or the white background with blue print? I'd like to take you up on your offer for the '89 Championship triangle decals. Please let me know how I can make payment to you. Thanks, Randy |

The stickers look good, but I think your memory is a little off. The American flag didnt start getting put on until '91 or '92. By '93 it had 2 waves in it instead of just one. Your AWSA decal isnt quite the correct vintage, but it doesnt look out of place. Originally I think it would have been gold/blue? I know by '92 it would have been white/blue with the outline of a slalom skier. I also thought the '89's had the triangle "1989 World Championship" decals... I know my '90 has them. I have some made up if you need them. I checked the '89 brochure and those decals didnt make the print date... but here is what they looked like in '90. I am pretty sure the stickers were the same, though the placement would have been different, obviously. 1990 brochure |

Doug,
The Correct Craft decal on the windshield is not original from the factory, it was added by one of the previous owners. I have seen other Correct Craft promo boats with a large format Correct Craft decal on the windshield, so perhaps that is the look the previous owners were trying to achieve. As for the AME, PCM and other decals near the stern, I merely copied the decal placement of what I remembered from the promo boats that were used at Sea World and other promo events back in the 80's. On a related note, I thought the seperate pinstripes were easier to apply when compared to applying the bow and stern "swoosch" stripes, especially the stern "swoosch" stripe. Let me know if you need any addtional photos. Randy |

Is the Correct Craft on the winshield original or did you add it?
Also wondering if the AME and PCM along with Flag on back under Correct Craft logo are original as well? |

Doug,
Sorry about the delay in getting back with you, I have a few more photo's listed below let me know if you need any others. PS. I wound up installing the pinstripes using seperate vinyl tape rolls, no luck with finding a single pre-masked tape roll, now I am working on the rub rail cleanup and new rub rail rope. |

Doug,
Later tonight, I can post pictures of my boat on where I placed the warning and cautions decals that is consistent with the decal placement of an older 2001 promo boat located in Orlando. |

Does anyone have pics of warning decals and position of decals on an 89 SN 2001....? I think I only need the ones on the back of the boat. I think there were three total. One by gas and two next to ski hook on back. Not sure though.

All original except for the new decals. I did have some stitching done on the drivers seat and also on the back seat because it was pulling apart at the seams. Small places about 3-5 inches. I also replaced the wood under the front passenger seat last year because it was rotted out. Thanks. |
