Well, Moj' and I took a major leap forward towards old age.
We now co-own a pontoon. It was cheap, it ain't pretty and is all covered in sea gull crap. But it should clean up pretty well. And it is accented in lovely array of vage pink. It is primarily an insurance policy. It is a boat our wives can take out anytime and if they bounce it off a pier, no worries. The kids are now allowed snacks on the water that have some color in them. Bring on the Cheetos! Anyone know where I can get marine rated shag carpet? Where is a good place to Johnson outboard parts like carb rebuild kits and misc? The engine is a 1990 V4 90HP. Starts good and runs at speed OK but a little rough at idle. |

I recently took a 33' pontoon and turned it into a mobile dock. It will keep the kids from tearing up the CC and allow alot more friends to hang out. I just got all my parts from Mrs. Boat Dr. @ CCF parts.

I can't believe you guy's wives let you get away with that. Once they become proficient in it's use, they will want to move up to the Nautiques, so it's just a matter of time anyway.

A few years ago I probably would have poked some fun at you guys, but since dad added a pontoon a few years ago, life has been good- its like a floating party. I suspect you'll like it more than you think!
Im in the midst of tuning up my 9.9 Johnson and have found iboats.com to be a great resource- for both the technical knowlege in the forums and the online parts catalogs (prices are very good). |

I was part owner of a pontoon for about 15 years. My brothers and I bought it just so we wouldn't abuse our Century. That's probably a big reason why it's still so nice.
Tim, I've got a great service manual for the 9.9 if you ever need it. |

Yeah, I believe that it was a form of red colors that have faded to a nice shade of vage pink... So when you see the name going down the side that says "POONTIQUE" it will fit right in hahahaha...
Bring on the cosmo spills and the BBQ doritos.. Doing our part to save a 210 and 211 from sure disaster hahaha Moj' |

I had a OMC V4, never did idle good. I was told to adjust the idle mixture when it is in reverse, maybe that will help you some. Mine also had a bad exhaust gasket & was recirculating exhaust back to the carb. |

I wouldn't mind if she became proficient with the toon and moved on to the Nautiques. She probably still wouldn't.
No pics yet. It started to rain shortly after I put it in my driveway so it got covered right away. I probably wouldn't show them until I blasted off the seagull crap anyhow. It will be fun. Moj' and I will work on it over the next year or two to make it a righteous party platform. We'll start by installing a bunch of leftover bits of stereo from my SAN and see where it goes. We'd really like to put a sundeck canopy with a slide off the back on it eventually. With that, we wouldn't have to parent our kids for hours... |

I guess I am lucky. Patti is a great driver. She is probably the the best woman driver in our club. I know she does a great job whether skiing or footing. Not afraid to pull multiples either. Found out she gots lots better when I quit hollering at her. My brother and my friend Ralph both have pontoons on Norris lake. We have a blast on either of them. Let the fun begin! john |

Knowing both of you, I'm getting the idea this purchase has more to do with cigars than Cheetos!!! |

This is the best news i've heard since attending my first CCFan GL outing in '07. Congrats and thanks guys!! Now i'm released of the self-imposed obligation to rent a darn pontoon every year as a central base (actually it was for the dogs). I was hoping to have the 65 Tournament Skier cleaned up in time for GL '10, and it's almost as big and wide as a pontoon.

Reid you are a good pontoon driver. Both years at Lake George you've seemed to make the haul to Log Bay just about as fast as everyone else. Still not quite sure how you do it.

Boaty and Skipper would love nothing more, however and unfortunately, they won't be making the trip this year as neither will Laurie. We're hosting a family reunion the weekend after this and that has us taxed a bit in terms of preparation, so that'll leave family representation at GL all on my shoulders. And those two dogs are a lot for one mortal being to handle on vacation.

Steve, sounds like we've got some bargaining to do, I rent out the big guy Bohdi for $1/hr plus expenses (blowpops and tootsies rolls) to keep little girls entertained. Now if you take the new dog WeeMan I'll owe you big time, that little guy's a handful. |
