when i install fuel tank in separator, ill have to pore foam around tank. should i pore all at once or little bits at a time to keep from pushing tank out

The push isn't that strong. It'll push up if it has a way to.
Right, wrong, or otherwise; I used small batches all over. By small I mean 2 pumps of each, a quick mix and pour. I did it that way to get a good mix and because the weather was warming up. It doesn't expand as much in cooler temps but will be more dense. |

Greg! how far will foam travel after it is mixed? it has to travel almost 24in to get to bottom of tank.

Travel? It'll stay pourable for ~ 1 minute depending on temp. It gets sticky as soon as it kicks. The product I used came with pretty good instructions and specified a certain amout of mix time and 'pour-by' time. It was 20-25 secs mixing and pour. It helps to use pumps and have a helper so you don't have to jump in and out of the boat.

I think you'll find it easier to work with on the warmer side, and the material will go farther. 75-80 if you can.

Jeff, hopefully if youre pouring foam, you plan to glass over it? Im not familiar with the tank set up in the v-drives, but the tanks were foamed in place on the direct drives in the late 60's and early 70's that Ive seen. It seems to me that all the uncovered foam in these boats were a major source of water intrusion. CC stopped the practice sometime in the mid 70's.

My plans were to refoam all places on boat and put plywood floor in all covered in glass. should i rethink this process and install strip flooring with glass top. my proublem is going to be sealing inspection hole to tank
