What year is the boat? If it's a pre '94 chances are you have a wood rot. I'm fixing the same issues right now.

Tim - 3M4200 is the best sealer for items you want to take apart someday. 3M5200 is even better but much harder to cut through if you want to remove it. I have found both of these at Walmart.
Good luck Chris |

I know there are new stringers in my future for sure. I picked this boat up to late in the winter to start that this year. New stringers are on the schedule for the fall. I want to get one season with this boat before I tear it apart. As for the lags in the platform brackets, they tighten up with no slipping (that one must just have vibrated loose or was never fully tighten from before). I want to take the brackets off and seal the lags and put everything pack together. I had the platform off to clean and oil it. |

Thanks Chris, I'll check Wal-Mart. I assume it was in the auto section? Maybe I will get one of each just to have on hand. So I would use the 5200 on things like the fins, log, and strut? |
