I am replacing some "shadetree mechanic's" idea of the water hose between the thermostat housing and recirculater pump with OE hoses and elbow. Not as easy as it looked. What's the recommended procedure?

Well, I can't seem to get the short hose and elbow in place on the thermostat opening. Thought I could get that secure and then hook up the long hose vertically to the recirculating pump without removing the recirculating pump. Busted knuckles later, I'm stymied.

I got it! Much easier if you unbolt the recirculater pump. Thanks anyway.
