The three inch SS pipes are cut at an angle.Would you turn them so the exterior face was verticle or so that they sloped toward the transom at the bottom?In the second case, the rubber exhaust gaurds would hang verticle which means open.

Never mind. I glued/glassed them in so the long edge is at the bottom and the exhaust flap will sit against the pipe when at rest.

i would mount them so the tip is flush with the vertical plane. this will let the flappers seal the easiest.
