1993 ski nautique. 980 hrs. When I go so pull a skier or footer up it is like I'm spinning out in my truck. RPM's rev, spins out then catches. Prob does it 2-3 times while pulling someone up. Whats going on. I have a 4 blade prop. It's in pretty good shape. Help

Your best bet is to pull it and send it to Eric at Fantastic Finish Marine for a rebuild. Even if it's low on fluid, it's slipping and the clutch plates have been overheated and warped. It's toast!!

Welcome to CCfan. Tell us more and of course we love pictures.

very likely your forward clutch drum is cracked and leaking apply pressure allowing the clutches to slip

Thank you much. So what should the plan of action be? I am not too mechanically inclined. Did just change the steering cable and helm with help from a friend. The helm turned the 2 hour cable change into about 3 nights of work. I will not make that mistake again and change the helm. My friend definitely earned a few free sets.

Eric, On the tranny thread there is something about $1,000 or less. Is this what I am looking at? Any ballparks would be great. Thanks

Well my boat burned last week. The storage building caught on fire. Don't think I'll be needing that rebuild after all. Motor and trailer and underwater parts still good. Thanks for the help.

I hope that our fellow fan in the south does not mind me doing this, but he sent me some photos and the damage is eye-popping. MDB, if you don't want these on here, just email me and I'll remove them pronto.

With permission: some more pictures of the damage. I am trying to work out a way to get this engine (so, yes, I am calling "dibs"!). If you live in/near Mississippi and would be interested in this trailer, please contact me via email (posted in my profile).
