My next work will be a Chrysler M440, very rare engine down here nowadays.

This guy came from a reference, long story short, he had the shortblock rebuilt and now needs me to finish the engine and install it in the boat.

Problem being it's missing a few parts, I wanted to ask some of the Chrysler gurus onsite which ones, if any were shared with the 318 or 361. Those are more "findable" parts.

-Starter (this is the most important)
-oil dipstick and tube
-oil cap for valve cover
-PCV for valve cover
-Distributor rotor, cap, condensor and points or EI kit.
-alternator is missing too but I can adapt one easily.

Reference numbers for current date spark plugs, oil filter, carb rebuild kit and distributor (seems like a prestolite) would be quite helpful too.

Is there any mod available for going with a single impeller pump?

Well it seems we are missing the bellhousing too and it's a little harder to come by.

Does anyone know about the above questions and if the bellhousing for this 440 is specific or the same as the other V8s?

Eric the distance is 6.5cm, that's like 2 1/2'' (between centers)

I might be able to find a bellhousing from a 318 or 360 but I'm not sure they are the same and no Chrysler guru has noted this thread yet.

Yeah I'm currently looking for what spark plugs people like the most on their Mopars, is there a preferred kind, or will anything that fits work just fine? Is there a FRAM of spark plugs?

I'm also on the same boat for the Carburetor. What's the best carb for the old Chryslers? I know an edelbrock wont need to be modified, but is the Holley worth the extra $$$?
