NG,
There are several here who have replaced the carpet with aluminum tread plate (diamond plate). It's easy to cut with a carbide blade in an electric hand saw (Skil Saw).

Mcmaster has small pieces available

I cant help you with the decking, but FYI, your trailer looks to be a Prestige, which is very similar to a Ramlin. Someone must have put an HO waterskis decal on it... they dont make trailers.

A guest at one of our events last year came up and said "Hey, who's DW?" (Our client always keeps the headliner a secret till top of show)

For the life of me I couldn't figure out who he was talking about until he pointed to the kick drum on the stage.

I had to laugh a little and let him know it was the brand of drum, not the band name.

He got a kick out of it, no pun intented, and then offered me 500 bucks to tell him who the headliner was!

This would be the color I'm thinking for the 74 SN lettering and interior piping.

There used to be a candy apple green stars & stripes that ran around DSM. Always looked good on the green waters of the DSM river.

How would a novice know...Prestige ehhhh??? Don't like the trailer much, would love to get a newer trailer, but haven't had time to look into it...does anyone use HO skis anymore? Sometimes, the only way I know what plane I'm flying is by the label on the fuselage...I guess I ought to pay more attention...thanks for the tip!!

Yes they are still around and I own two HO slaloms myself. I believe several members here ride one of their top of the line ski's.

I have steel diamond plate steps and they are slippery when wet.
I've been wondering how to make them more grippy.
I'd stick with carpeted.
This is the life

Non skid additive in the paint. It's used on decks and soles on many boats.

Most all paint manufactures make a non-skid additive. There are some folks making actual non-skid paint now. Lowes sells Rustolem non-skid additive that can be mixed with epoxy, latex, or oil-based paint. This is made specifically for garage floors but can be used on such applications as boat trailers. All major marine finishes also have their line of non-skid.
