First sets of the year but not the least ...

After filling gas tank, my buddy didn't close the gas cap... We have been driving for almost 15 minutes before closing it.

River was a bit shoppy and we were about 24 mph

Can many water have came in ? (We have been riding for1 hour any every thing runs OK)
Need I already check fuel filter or wait and look is my engine stalls ?

May the cap be high enough to prevent water from coming in ?

Thanks for help !

If it was full I bet you put more gas in the water than water in the gas.

Thanks. If it is "just" some gas in water it will be a chance.

To be safe, I would buy a can of Dry Gas at the auto store and dump it in the tank.

There should be a water seperator in your fuel delivery system, but a $3 bottle of drygas can help ease your worries...

Al,
This is good advice as long as he isn't running ethanol. Since non ethanol fuel is getting real hard to find, the chances are high that he's already got plenty of alcohol in the gas!

I'm going with the previous comment and change the fuel water separator filter after he's got a few hours of run time on the engine.

8122, so if he adds the Dry Gas to a high % ethanol gasoline, then the alcohol content would be too high?

I don't know, so just wanting to know..

Thanks

Yes. Even though the two alchols are different types, it's still alchohol. Etanol in itself will absorb water and is one of the problems with it.
