Need a new one and looking for suggestions.   Don't need a long distance lens, I'm talking pocket sized. The last one I had, a $200 olympus cheapie, worked fine for me except it could not take pics FAST.

Would like nice quality and the ability to snap a pic quickly is all I need. No beeps to let me know I am trying to take a pic, or make me hold the button for 2 seconds to make sure I want to take a pic. Seems like the manufactures don't list that as a spec, or I don't know what to look for. Oh, yeah, I want to be able to take the card out and to the computer with out some adapter for the card like the olympus had for the camera.

Any ideas? Got to be photog here.

Left the last one in a taxi. I think. Someone is going to be laughing, and maybe a little shocked, when they cycle the pics and video.

Can't help you much on point-and-shoot cameras but if you decide to step up to a DSLR, page me.

I'm on my second Cannon Powershot and like it. The 2nd one is newer and nicer, and has a higher pixel density.

One funny irony, I think the old one was faster, with it's lower pixels. It got accidentally broken.

I've been experimenting with the lower density (smaller) pic settings and that seems to go a bit faster. The higher (bigger) setting takes pictures that are way to physically big to post here, and way to big file size wise to email.
