I've got an '88 and if you move the throttle forward and let go it drifts back. Being an older boat this doesn't surprise me, I just wanted to know if this is the way it worked even when new or is it due to wear or being out of adjustment? Does your throttle stay where it's set or do they all drift back?

That can be a sign that the cable has a kink in it or it has been bent too much.

If you disconnect the cable from the carb, does it feel like it still wants to drift back as compared to it connected??

Not sure, I'll do the test and check it out.

Thanx
