Can anyone tell by the picture if this is a clock wise rotation or counter clock wise? I am not a boat guy. The engine was a 351W. I never ran the boat when I bought the boat because the engine was locked up and was cracked.
I am buying a replacement block and heads for the boat. The boat is a 83'. There has been a bit of confusion on what the boat is. The boat serial number shows a Ski Tique, but the boat came from the factory with Ski Nautique painted on decals and was t*tled as a ski nautique. It even has all the ski nautique paperwork. Pretty strange. Just needs some help Thanks, Andrew http://photobucket.com/albums/a312/almcbri/?action=view¤t=BoatRear3.jpg |

It looks like s ski tique. regardless of the model it's a reverse rotation engine. But the way the scope is on the front it doesn't match the 83 ski nautique, now it could be an older ski nautique model as well 80-81 maybe

The engine should be r/h rotation in an 83. The prop should have r/h stamped in it as well.

The prop shows RH engine. Typical.
Very nice. What happened to the red? |

Andrew,
Looks like you know what your doing, but just in case, when you begin the engine assembly, make sure you use marine tolerances and pay attention to piston direction, piston to bore clearances etc. A call to SECC (guy named Woody) would launch you in the right direction. He's a CC Savant. Myself, I only learn by failure. Does that boat have foam under the floor. May need to check it. Mine was soaked. Is that gel or paint. Looks great! Good luck. |

I will check the prop. thanks guys!
Gotta Ski: "Very nice. What happened to the red" I am not sure what you are reffering to? 64 Skier: Thanks for the compliments. I went through and replaced the floor in different areas and re-fiberglassed the complete floor before carpeting the floor. The color is actually your normal base/clear. It is Subara Blue Pearl. It will be fine as along as the boat doesn't set in the water for a long period of time. I have a guy that is going to help me with the block assembly, but I may call correct craft if I get in a bind! Thanks! Andrew |
