Need some help. I have a 1982 SkiTique with a PCM Ford 302. Am I safe running unleaded in it or not. Machine shop I deal with says Ford started using hardened valve seats in about 1974. Anyone know for sure? Thanks, Andre.

I guess what I should have asked was do I need to run an additive/supplement like Valve Tec or similar as a lead substitute. Thanks, Andre.

Short answer, don't worry about it.

Long answer, the additive will cost you more than the eventual valve job.

It will take years for it to wear out.
