Proud new owner of an 84 - 2001

Hi Folks,

New to This forum (at least posting here, been reading it for months studying what to buy and look for in a 2001 hull Nautique). Thought I would pop in and post some pics of my boat and get more familiar with this community. Lots of questions and fidgity things to really improve my boat and you guys are amazing with your knowledge and helpfulness.

I had wanted a 2001 hull for a lot of years. My son is finally starting to come around to wakeboarding and it is a beautiful classic that really performs well.

Post some photos when I get home. I did have one initial question.

The flap on the drivers side exhaust is torn off. Does anyone know what size is would be 3" or 4" ? and maybe a place to get them ?

I'm at work and would like to order a few and neglected to measure them this morning before I left.

Get them on their way.. I don't like the completely open exhaust, probably not a major deal short term but definitely bad idea for any amount of time I'm sure.

They are just there to prevent waves from blowing water up the pipes if the boat is parked with the transom facing the surf. They fill up with water anyways when the boat sits at rest. Yes replace them but it is fine to use it until they are replaced.

I always change oil before storage but if you don't know how long it's been in there change it now.Can't hurt to change trans fluid but be carefull to get proper fluid don't let anybody talk you into synthetic.Also change fuel filter/separator.I like to spend a bit of time checking all clamps and electrical plugs and connections for tight and clean.

Can't get to that on my phone but these guys on CCF can definitely steer you in right direction.Plenty of posts on modern oil vs older engines.I was just thinking of searching myself because I drained my trans want to make sure it gets proper Dexton.Been using Rotella 15-40 oil with good results and it does not cost me anything Bonus!
