I have a 1998 ski nat. Snob. I've ntoiced that the last two ski trips it takes about 5-8 seconds for the boat to get into gear. Reverse goes in with no delay. I did a service on it at the beginning of the season also.

I noticed that there is a slight leak on the nut and bolt where the actual shifter is and that the fluid smells burned, but the fluid level is good. Any suggestions?????

Have you changed the fluid? Use Dex III or equivalent.
