Tim, either you don't have a discerning eye, didn't try swapping knobs, or you need to divulge the brand of switch you bought! We tried several and none were a perfect match and none allowed you to swap the original knob over. Spill the beans!

C'mon Tim, he still thinks all Kim's are the same so what makes you think he'll actually see a difference in some knobs??????Just nod and play along.

When people run down to the lake to see what's making that noise, you've succeeded.

Would not get them from west marine, they're available most everywhere (including amazon). I'll forward you the email.

I agree with the Cole-Herse as they are quality. Nothing that says "Sierra" on it!!

I you guys!

I'll take some pics when I get home Timmy...... but ya gotta remember I'm approaching 50...Only reason I swapped out one was because the chrome was peeling off the knob.

Eddie........You mean they're not?

you guys are brutal. leave Kimbob alone.

Boat looks awesome Chris. Those airguides are beautiful. Glad you didn't have to sacrifice the doghouse.

Probably a stupid question...are there any of those knobs in the skier sitting in your back yard?

Not a stupid question at all. I'll have to take a closer look this spring. If they're in good shape I could certainly keep the originals in the Promo and give the skier the new aftermarket switches.

Thinking it might be the safer option to replace them all for a consistent look and ensure they actually work!

The knobs on that particular "Kim" looked good......but didn't work! ....Nothing would turn on no matter how many times you pulled or pushed the knobs!

Perhaps it was "operator error" and not a manufacturers defect

None of the above....... One of the 5 technicians who were doing the structural enhancement modifications cut the wire somewhere causing a permanent ground scenario keeping the circuit breakers popped all the time rendering both assemblies entirely useless other than cosmetic.

Sorry for the thread jack Chris.....you can tell Old Man Winter has definitely set in!

More Promo Progress! My brother's good friend/sign painter/allaround bas a$$, Anna, committed to helping re-paint the letters and boot stripe this week. She's an absolute rock star and is knocking this project out of the park!

She's brushing everything by hand using gloss black rust-oleum paint and it's looking fantastic! She finished the big letters yesterday afternoon and is planning to have the boot stripe and small letters done today!

Here's a friendly reminder of what we started with a few years back....

And yesterday's action shots!

We're getting close....but just imagine how hot this boat would have looked new with that bright orange gel you can now see under the boot stripe and graphics!

"hacks" or "butchers" we woulda called them.......instead of haywired we woulda called it stacking around the trouble instead of fixing the trouble...

but its all the same...taking the easy way out.

A few more pictures from yesterday's progress. Boot stripe will be done today and then we'll replace registration letters, platform and transom hardware and remaining decals!

How aggressive did you get with sanding, what grit did you go down to on the deck, transom and hull sides??

CQ - below the boot stripe was heavily oxidized so took it down to 400. Everything above the boot stripe was 800. Deck actually came back nicely with the buffing wheel so it received minimal sanding.

Gary - I used the heck out of it on the Avocado Queen (green 72 skier). Dropped it one day and broke the air hose connection and haven't gotten around to fixing it yet. The promo was done by hand. It'll be fixed before sanding the Riviera for sure!
