I'm assembling a 5.7 Vortec long block and thinking the original manifolds were bolted to the head without gaskets just a bead of silicone. I'm not worried about the risers they are together and don't leak..
I've searched alot of threads, in different forums, unfortunately most of threads are 5 pages deep and full of people answering every question but the one I need an answer to. I bought some high temp RTV Im thinking that is what I need. |

You should definitely have a marine gasket on that. It goes on dry. Don't use that RTV crap.
