Hey guys! Hope everybody is ready for the season to begin. I have a few projects I will be working on over the next few weeks to get the Skier ready to go. One that I have been putting off is replacing the axle on my trailer. The original axle broke before I owned the boat and the PO replaced it. I do not think the axle that is on there is rated for the weight and the spindles are bending up and wearing out my tires. Both tires have wear on the inside edge to the point that the tread is nearly gone on the edges and like new in the middle. Both tires will have to be replaced this year because of it and axles are not that expensive compared to new rubber and most importantly safety and piece of mind. So the million dollar question is- anybody have a part # for me, or a preferred vendor?

Keeganino there's a name from the past, what ever happened to him? Trbenj will know,he hooked me up for a axle for my #2. When you get it you'll have to measure it out and have the spring perches welded on where you need them, other than that pretty straight forward. I think yours is a 2 also?

I know I did drop off the face of the Earth. Still working for H-D but switched dealerships. Now marketing director for Cox's H-D's 3 stores and it is a FULL time job! I probably only got on the water 6 or 8 times last year! I have free reign to take any used bike off the lot for the weekend so I spent a lot of time riding when I would have been boating.
My trailer is a #2 and the axle is u-bolted to the springs right now. Definitely know some welders so that would not be a problem. Wish I would have known there was a problem when Marty and I rebuilt the trailer, but then again if I did not like projects I would not have this boat. It is good to be back! You guys are the best. I see a few of you on facebook, but it's not the same. |
