Today I was out using the boat an all of a sudden at the dock I went to go start my boat and the was no throttle response? The boat will go into forward and revers and move with the boat idling but will not get any throttle. I believe I broke the throttle cable and would like to order one and get it on the way with the 4th of July coming up in a few weeks. What is the correct length for a 1987 Nautique 2001?

Nicholas,
On the end of the cable there will be the model number that also shows the length. Why don't you pull out the old? You have all day tomorrow and you won't be able to order it until Monday! Attach a rope to the cable and pull it through so you'll have it to pull the new one in. Go2Marine is your best bet for a new one. |

Length should be stamped on the cable casing within a foot or two of the end.
Red cables are usually stamped in inches. But first be sure you look behind the shifter. The throttle control arm could have come loose and fallen off. |

Or the control cable connector could have worn thru also sometimes these are on both ends of the cable and other times only on the control end
