I am doing some fiber glass reinforcement in some thin areas where the floor attaches to the side. Does anyone know how the floor should attach to the side. Should the floor extend all the way flat and be glassed directly to the wall at close to a 90 degree angle. Or should it be sloped upwards with an emplty gap between the slope and the wall to allow some flexing so the floor doesn't act as an object to stress the side and cause spider cracks in the gel coat? Does anywone understand what the hell I am talking about?

az,
Im replacing the floor in my CC, altho its a lot older...(1964 skier)..the floor itself doesnt attach to the side.
My floor screws into wooden strips that run across the main stringers. These wooden strips are screwed into wood blocks that are 'glassed into gussets inside of the hull about every two feet... You can see the "gussets" along the floor in the pic my new post "Floor stringer progress"... Good luck...

Im also "sistering" the outer floor stringers..they had some small rot areas..

An '86 "2001" will have the floor glassed directly to the side of the boat with not much of a fillet or transition. I would use fiberglass cloth tape of vary widths to reinforce this connection. Use epoxy resin for a superior bond.
