A couple of months ago I managed to run my 94 Ski Nautique aground when my lake level was quite low.   This resulted in a bent strut and shaft, not to mention a dinged up prop.   As a winter project I'll be repairing her -- and adding a depth finder!   I've searched the site and have seen where installing an ARE shaft will make my life a lot easier. However, I haven't been able to find a good source for strut repair.   Is a repair possible or do I need to fork over the money for a new one?
Once I get the parts I'll watch Pete's alignment video a few more times before tackling the project.

Welcome to CCFan David and sorry to hear about the mishap. Be sure to fill out the info in the diaries page and lets see the 94. We're boat fanatics and love pictures.

To answer your question. Site Sponser Delta Props can straighten out the strut provided it isn't bent too bad or cracked. They straightened out 2 struts for me and I also bought 2 cutlass bearings to replace. Much to my surprise they installed them at no cost to me other than the cost of the bearings themselves. Pretty quick turn around even in the middle of summer. I've used them before, I'll use them again and recommend them to anyone who asks. They take care of their customers. Use the discount code in the banner and get a CCFan discount of 10%..Again..... Welcome to CCFan!

If the strut can be repaired a prop shop should be able to fix it up for you, same goes for the shaft possibly or a machine shop.

David,
Besides the suggestions above regarding your strut, we have members who have straightened them themselves but you need a hydraulic press.

I too welcome you to CCfan.

This comment lends me to a question, does or has CC ever used a double taper shaft as OEM?? If so what year(s)??
