Does anyone know the TPS or throttle position sensor is adjustable on a 1996 GT-40 multi port fuel injected engine.
I checked mine and its out of spec, Dont know if that would cause it to do what its doing but it has an idling issue, At idle its .93v, it should be at .50v according to the manual.. According to the manual .93v would indicate 10% throttle plate opening. I don't have nay issues when its cold, only after it has warmed up, it idles erratic and dies. It will go away if you open the throttle plate a little, its annoying. |

I just googled 1996 ford 5.0 TPS adjustment and came up with allfordmustang.com that had detailed instructions on how to adjust. I think it said .98v which when you think of it is what your doing when you manually open the throttle plate i.e. Voltage increases as the plate opens. Keep in mind that 89-93 mustangs, engine and fuel system wise are very similar to what we use. link to adjustment

Good read, Thanks
I was just going by the Voltage in the GT-40 PCM manual.. at WOT my voltage is 3.68, it should be higher based on the manual. Should be around 4.24v Im going to fool around with it today to see if adjusting it makes my issue go away and report back.. Its a very aggravating issue |
