After boating spray wash help

I use Babes Boat Bright (different from Spot Solver) for quick wipe downs. You can save a few bucks buying it by the gallon, and refilling the little spray bottles.

I would put a good coat of Collinite paste wax on it, then wipe it down while its still wet you should be good to go. Works well on mine.

Thanks. I'm very happy with the gelcoat. I have only had it 6 months though, and would like to keep it up, That's the reason for the post. There are a couple spiderwebs I plan to take care of in the next year or two. Upholstery work will come first though.

I like the Babe's products, but I hate having to use the Spot Solver to remove the water spots and then use the Boat Bright for the cleaner/wax application.

I prefer to use the Boat Bling Hot Sauce because it is one application that removes water spots and includes the cleaner/wax treatment, too, and it is also available by the gallon.

Collinite is a great wax. but at the price i wouldn't wipe the boat with it every time you use the boat. it is a wax and will continue to protect as long as you dont use a wax cutting soap to clean.

I just recently started using collinite but I only applied it once at the beginning of the season and once midway but it got a lot of use. But in between fishing trips I use or-pine(the green not the yellow) which has wax in it and will not remove wax. the yellow does not have wax in it. but it has very good stain removing qualities and can be applied with a soft scrub brush.
takes dried blood stains out of non skid without much elbow grease so should help with water spots


edit** also you mentioned the tower. Woodys wax in the spray is what we use on our outriggers and it keeps them nice and shiny most of the season with just a spray down of fresh water after a trip. It has fish oil in it and will leave a slight film that dries up eventually but it surely protects well. not sure if it will leave the desired result on a wakeboard tower but it couldn't hurt to try.

My home-brewed spot remover:

1 part cleaning vinegar
3 parts distilled water (or soft water)
5 or 6 drops of Dawn dishwashing soap
5 or 6 drops of liquid carnauba wax

Mix it all up in a spray bottle. Works great for after boating.

Hot Sauce is by far the best product on the market. I didn't even wax mine this year and it still looks freshly waxed. It is a spot remover and silicon sealer (not a spray wax).

I don't wipe it down if it sits in the water for a weekend just when it comes out or the deck gets dirty from feet/water etc.

Hot sauce smells great and works well if the boat is dry and very well if the boat is wet. 1 20 dollar bottle lasts me all summer.

And it goes great on wings!

I ended up getting a gallon of Hot Sauce. I like that it cleans and protects in one step. Hopefully it works out well. I think there were enough positive comments about it on here that it is a safe option.

In case anyone is interested, good ole walmart is selling the 20 ounce bottles of hot sauce (as well as other boat bling products) for $13. Have to admit, I ordered some for pick up after all the good reviews on this thread.
