Getting the boat ready for the spring, the current pump ended our last season when the bearings seized up... Tried to rebuild it, but on inspection the shaft and other internals were far too worn out.
Looking for a sherwood G21 (or Sierra equivalent, I've been told they are better quality... not sure, but feel free to set me straight. |

Sierra parts are not quite up to OEM parts and I doubt they make a complete pump. I know I don't have 180 into any of my pumps that I rebuilt but you do need a press to get them apart and back together. You need a shaft too see if you can look them up and add that to your cost. Then see what you can find a new one for, they seem to go up all the time. Last time I looked I think the cheapest one was something like 379ish

Lowest price I've been able to find... Thank-you kindly for your support Gary S.... Here goes nothing --- I'll post the result once ordered so that the rest here know how either of these suppliers are to buy from.
The IPs trace back to the same company, so yes, looks like the same distributor... |

Just received the kit in the mail. Looks great, arrived quickly and everything lines up with the old pump.
For people newer/green with boat ownership, I'm also attaching a photo of the old impeller as a reminder of how important it is to keep your impeller/pump in healthy shape. I bought this boat recently, when we saw the shape of the impeller, we pulled the boat out early last year, and have been really meticulous about checking everything over after seeing the state of the impeller. Oddly we didn't have any overheat issues, and we are thankful for the closed cooling system; not sure if that can alone can prevent an overheat but it must be beneficial when the impeller isn't circulating. |
