Just finished the restoration/remodel of a 1966 Barracuda SS. The engine is a 350+ HP 350 Chevy, twin four barrel Edelbrock #1409s, hot cam, Pertronix, etc. I added Hurst shifter arms for the console and used snooker balls for the knobs. The hull is painted 1955 Lincoln wisteria; swim platform and trim is African mahogany.

Cool! What raw water pump are you using? I'm curious because I am looking for another alternative to the proprietary Omc pump I now have. Mercruiser bracket and pump?

I used the pump/bracket I pulled from a 1988 7.4 Mercruiser. Bolted right up.

Very nice attention to detail.   Just like you stated "Rest Mod". Going to be a fun ride. Would look good with one of TimB's old nostalgia steering wheels too. Have fun, looking forward to seeing it in person.   Duane

Jan,
Is the 350 a RR engine? If it's a standard rotation, did you grind any of the hook off the hull to compensate?

White Lake Reunion is in a few weeks. It would be great to see you and the boat there. Doesn't seem like it was too long ago when you first posted about that Cuda. You get your projects done in short time!

Jan,
That's great to hear. With all the power of the 350, you don't want to complicate handling with a standard rotation engine. Have you had any thoughts about a prop to get the 350 HP to the water?

Starting off with a 12x14 and we'll see what we get for a top end. We will probably have to do a few experiments but I have a shelf full of good used 1" RH props to play with. If I can get her to top out somewhere between 4,200 and 4,500 at WOT, I'll be happy, assuming I don't black out from the excessive G forces.

M1's also! Looking for a set myself. A Lincoln turnpike wheel would look good also. Really nice touches throughout.

Jan,
My gut feeling with 350 HP, you'll be under propped and exceed the 4500. I'd suggest starting with a steeper pitch. My X55 with only 215 HP runs at about 4300 WOT with a 12x15.. Why the relatively low red line of 4500?

Cudas had the late 50's Mercury Turnpike Cruiser wheel which come up fairly often.

Classics had the 1961/1962 Plymouth Valiant wheel which seem pretty rare.
