I suppose they are all going to be different, since they are hosted by local folks and have different pros for each. Jim Greg and I went into this not being overly hopeful, figuring it might be a lot of sales, other boats around, no course, them dictating what we did, limited time behind the boat..... We came out of it saying if we had completely designed the event to suit our wish list, we couldnt have done a better job.

As far as the slalom course, I am by no means a course skier as I have just never had much exposure or opportunity. I did have one successful pass, (my second) at a whopping 28 MPH. I had a few other 4-5 ball passes. Per Donald's suggestion above, I did try one of the fancy pants 21st century demo skis they had there. (It was not my original plan to try a demo ski, no sense in trying to get used to a different ski while trying my luck in the course) But Breanne suggested it so i gave it a shot and I do have to confess, it made life a bit easier. Allowing for the fact that I was pooped at the end of my session, I did have a 5 ball run and missed No. 6 by about a foot on the new ski.

Gary,
That is indeed a GREAT idea. However, if I do this in August, I will endanger if not forfeit, my amateur status a few months early. . A bigger problem is I do not speak Northern. I speak the lovely sound of a Southern Gentlemen. The participates would likely need a interpreter.

The South Eastern HO Rep had the whole 2017 HO line with him and a nice selection of bindings. So you would just pick what you wanted to ride in the 2017 line and then pick your direct mount bindings. There was no pressure to buy.

I wish. Although I cant complain too loudly as Greg let me bring home his former ski to try, which is probably a generation or two newer than mine.

Also wish we had succeeded at getting my friend Jim to pick up the silver and red promo 200 for me, but alas, that didnt happen either. Both promo 200s at the event are for sale later this season.

Meanwhile....
Here is our coach, demonstrating her chops. She had skied in the Master last weekend and has been ranked 4th - 7th in the world. Not bad. Not sure exactly where she stands now.

Larry, as has been discussed in other threads if you use that newer ski you also need to update from your ski belt to an actual vest.

Man does she make that look effortless. So impressive.

Got Robin a very slightly used HO CX for Christmas from Ski it Again.
She skied it the first time this past weekend ( she has been on the DL with a pinched nerve in her neck/shoulder area). She likes it!
NautiqueHunter's wife, Gail, and Morfoot skied it as well.......should of gotten a picture of that!
Looks like it is a keeper.

Larry,

One of the guys on the dock, I believe he was the safety guy (Title?) for the 2017 Masters told me she is currently ranked 10 TH in the world. .

Tell Jim that I am a satisfied customer of NCH20Skier used equipment sales and paddle refurbishing service. Greg is great to work with. Hopefully, I will be ready for his 2017 TX in 2019 when he is ready to move up. It will match my boat colors (Team Red) very well.

Yeah, talked to that guy a bit. He said he was there to help scoop Freddy Kreuger out of the water after that rather spectacular fall.

Talked to Lester Todd the day after that happened as he was driving when that happened and he said Yeah it looked really bad from his view as well. He still qualified for the finals but opted out as he was a hurting mofo the next day as to be expected.

Breanne took about a zillion pics from the boat and I think she said something about posting them, but I didnt ask when or where. I had a camera with me, but it didnt work for some reason, so I just got those few that I posted with my phone. I would have liked to ridden in boat while others were skiing but I didnt ask, since it was full. (driver, Breanne and the drivers 2 kids, I think) Tho one guy rode when his daughter skied, but it was a different smaller crew than when we went.

Think they were going to post pics to the Nautique site, I think. At least that is what the guys on the dock mentioned. Was a good time. Jesse and I left the wives and kids at home and went up there. I went at 8am and unfortunately Breanne came as we were finishing. Got to take the red 200 through the course with no skier before Larry and Greg showed up (yes, I like to drive any boat I can get my hands on). It was a beast with the H6 in it...only 450hp I think.

So, in consideration of David's suggestion, I think I will pick up this modern, state of the art vest I just spotted on Ebay.

Breanne posted some pics on her instagram page. Was hoping for more, but oh well. Only one I made was sitting on the doc while my friend Jim swims in. The last one is Jim skiing.
