My 1989 SN 2001 has some wiring issues under the dash. There were two orange wires, one hooked to the horn switch and the other not connected. Traced them out and found one coming from the horn( which turned out to be bad) and one coming from the alarm module. Replaced the horn and it now works off the switch. Attached the other orange wire to the system alarm. How can I test the alarm to see if it works. I think I have everything right according to the wiring diagram in the reference section.

Kevin,
I'd have to say the reason the alarm was disconnected is they don't work!! There's a couple threads on the alarms and one is a member who tried to rebuild/recreate the alarm. You can try hooking it back up but the common fix is to forget about it and watch your gauges which you should be doing anyway! Welcome to CCfan. How about some pictures. |
