This forum has a wealth of knowledge, searched around and couldn’t find what I was looking for so I thought I would ask.
I recently acquired a 1969 Freeport with the 210 interceptor motor, it is an I/O. The boat has been sitting for at least 8 years, I was able to get the engine started and running. Everything seems to be working at this point except for the trim. I went up but doesn’t seem to want to go down. It appears to be an electric trim, not hydraulic. But what I really want to figure out is where is the water pump on this stern drive, I took a back cover off and it didn’t have much other than a shifter linkage. Any help or knowledge would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Ryan My Link My Link My Link |

Ryan,
Better get the VOM (volt Ohm meter) out and I'd suggest starting at the trim control making sure it's sending power aft. Then there should be relays for both up and down. Many of the electric I/O trim/tilt's back then used starter relays (solenoid) to get the power to the motor. Do you have the Volvo Penta sterndrive manual? If not, marineengine.com has them. |
