Thanks in advance for your opinions and insight. I have looked at a 84 SN2001 near my home a couple times now. Hours show less than 350 although I don't know if that is correct. I have looked over the floor and stringers really well and have only found one spot with rot This is also the only spot I can find that the fiber glass is broken. It's the size of my finger and I .can feel the mushy wood inside. All the motor bolts righted down except the one nest this spot.   I would expect to go through and reinforce the center stringers and reseal the whole floor. Everything else seems very solid. What do you guys think?

What is the condition of the rest of the boat?

What is asking price?

Do you like it & does it fit your needs?

The stringers may last years as is.

$3200..... it has a small crack in the exterior of the block. I have a TIG welder and can fix this. I runs good just drips a little water. Overall it is very clean, the wires under the dash look unmolested.

If it is usable at $3200 & the type of boat you want, I would go for it.

The depreciation on a late model boat would be that much in 1 year, so even if the stringers deteriorate after 5 years, you could walk away from it & be ahead.

Be aware that fixing up your boat is an addiction, doesn't take much to get hooked!

What type of filler would you use on the block? Nickel alloy? Would you preheat/post heat?

Here are the images linked:

Love the looks of that boat. I love my 85. From your questions and how you have checked it out it seems like you are more than capable of getting a lot of years out of that boat.

My dad bought a 84 Ski Nautique with the deluxe interior brand new in 84. It was the boat that I learned to ski behind. I loved the sound of those boats. Enjoy

Let us know how the block repair went. I heard positive and negative results using a Tig.

Stainless filler rod is the key to a TIG weld on cast. Do the proper prep and a preheat and it works great.

Those colors look so slick on that hull. You've snagged a great boat there!

The bimini is worth 10% of the purchase price alone.
