Picked this up at an estate sale today along the river, looks like an old ski belt, can anyone confirm? Very light, assuming balsa.

There is a belt like this currently on Ebay. Child's size, yellow. Search "vintage balsa life vest".

Looks like it may be an old swim belt, not sure if it was intended to ski with.
Found this from an early '50's MotorBoating magazine.
