I'm replacing my bilge pump in my 86 nautique. The old bilge pump is screwed in to the hull. I was thinking maybe remove the old screws and fill the holes somehow. Then epoxy in the new bilge pump base. Is this a good course of action? How should I fill the old screw holes? Should I use the same epoxy? I have some west systems epoxy and hardener on hand.

Or is there a better way to go about this?

Thanks,
Roger

I replaced my bilge pump with a different model and drilled new holes in the base so I could use the existing holes. I am glad I did because the new pump quit and I ended up putting the same model back in and was able to use the original holes again.

I fill holes with 3M marine adhesive / sealant (4200 or 5200).

Perfect... just ordered some.

I may reuse the screw holes, but I also need to remove a broken float switch. The new pump is a rule automatic one.
