Have a used 2000 SN 196, want to check out the humminbird 600 depth sounder which shows a steady 4. How can I turn on the power without starting?
Next question I read the Humminbird 600 seems to have a lot of failures |

just turn on the master switch or the ign breaker, and then which ever accessory breaker that powers the depth finder. no key needed. If you have a push button key pad, you may need to enter your code, but just not press the start button.

thanks, pretty silly question I see, its my son's boat he just got it and he said the depth sounder wasn't working, he didn't tell me about the starting code etc. lol!! I get it.
