Hello, I was wondering if it would be plausible to build a100 amp upgrade for my 95 gt40 with the stock 51amp alternator using a rebuilt ra097009 from a pcm gm zr6 engine. I realize I'd need a new heavier gauge feed wire, ground?, and pigtail but thought I might be able to more or less replace the pully on the alternator and go. Any thoughts on whether this could work? I haven't looked at the housings side by side yet, but maybe someone here knows an obvious reason to use the kit instead. In all I think I could stand to save about $200 if I need to rebuild the alternator for $100 and source the cables etc. I'm sure there's a reason that a difference exists between gm and ford 100 amp alternators but it's. it obvious to me, or whether it can be overcome.

Thanks,

Kyle
