Exhaust Manifolds - brands?

   Hi All,

For some that have came across my threads, I have had some engine issues and may be getting it rebuilt soon, just waiting on some costings.

Besides that, I do believe that my exhaust manifolds are shot, and I wouldn't be surprised if they had never been replaced in its history. 

What I wanted to ask is, are their any after market brands I should stay clear of, I am clearly price conscious and the shipping is going to punish me when trying to get those heavy sobs from the US to ZA. so cheaper will win in this case.

When we start pulling the motor I will post pics of the manifolds for confirmation, but regardless of a pressure test I noticed when I had them off last the middle ports have a separating plate cast and that was almost completely worn/broken/corroded away, so thought that could be reason enough to replace. At the time, I had very little knowledge of exhaust manifolds.

	I see Barr Manifolds a lot on boats overseas. They appear to have a good distribution network but I don't see anything in South Africa.

	Yup being this side of the world makes things a little harder, I will have to organise sea freight I think, Im not paying $1200 for shipping with usps :D' I did come across the Barr brand amongst others, just curious if there is any reason for me not to go for brands like that or Sierra etc

	My experience with Barr is they work well, just HEAVY. Lots of metal, and thats just fine for most people, in fact like that, just not me.

	Excuse my global ignorance but is Greece or Australia easier to ship from? Barr has distributors there.

	No ignorance, I wouldn't know myself but I will be exploring those options. Im not sure if anyone has dealings with https://www.perfprotech.com Their shipping estimate is very reasonable and they have everything I need.
