Anyone in the NC area (or someone coming to white lake) have a muffler they want to get rid of. One of ours is good and one is in rough shape. We are looking at repair but figured it worth asking since so many get taken off for straight pipes. Note we have a 78 ski tique so we are looking for the older straight muffler. Thanks.

David, why not just put straight corrugated hose on her. We replaced the mufflers in our Tique with copper tubes from a '74 Skier and it didn't get much louder. Corrugated rubber wouldn't be as loud as the copper, and probably not much louder than your mufflers..

Definitely an option. We are also looking for pipe locally. Just thought someone may have a muffler to get rid of. If we go with pipe we will have a good one to get rid of.

Muffler will be cheaper than hose at $15-20/ft.
The oem mufflers are pretty effective at knocking down the volume from a distance... they all sound loud from the back seat. Copper and even straight hose carry much further. |

I don't know which of the mufflers you have there or the damage you have but most are pretty easily and effectively repairable with fiberglass and epoxy, particularly if you are in the middle of project where you already have that stuff all around you...

Will measure tonight. Joe I agree but it looks like someone stuck metal pipe in both ends to fix it last time. That is rusting and the ends are falling apart. We plan to under take fixing if no other. Would those pipes have been original? Could we put something else in there to hold shape for the end.

The mufflers that Correct Craft used are still available. Around $200.00 each.
