Ralph,
You'll see a hole below the ring/finger where there's a spring pin. Some call them a roll pin. It's what's holding the ring/finger in the pylon and it needs to be driven out. Then the shank can be really stuck due to corrosion. Some have resorted to applying upwards force with a chain hoist or "come a long" while twisting the ring back and forth. Be carefull not to apply too much force on the ring since some have bent them.

Corroded in is very likely.   Use torch to heat up the pole while twisting the ring with something like a shovel handle.   Back and forth then lift and twist out.

got one pin out but having trouble with the other. Ring seems loose so if I can get the other pin out, should come out. Thanks

Some penetrating spray in the pins help as they corrode also, and heat from the opposite as the spray will help draw the oil in where its needed.
Then I got a set of these so I can remove when using my fly high pole
