Covering a Nautique

   Recently purchased my first Nautique.  I love it, with the exception of covering it!  It's on a lift(no cover)and the dock only goes out to about mid boat.  I have never covered a more difficult boat that this!  Even if the dock did go out further(which it will after I extend it)the angled platform makes it impossible to cover.  Any ideas out there from others???

	with the boat still in the water,cover the back 1/2 to the center,jump out onto the dock & raise her up,then you can roll the mooring cover over the windshield to the bow.

	i'm guessing you dont use floating docks at your lake location since you stated you have a lift with no cover.it's not that bad to hammer black iron pipe into the lakebed and extend the dock out a bit.the trouble for me is finding the pipe[used of course]

	Most lift's have canopys that can be bought for the lift's. Or you can make one if you don't have 2-3k laying around. Most of the lifts on the lake here are vertical or canterlevered lifts and a canopy is attached to the four main supports/legs of the lifts. what brand of lift is it? Shore Staion and Hewitt are common around here.

	I had a customer cover made for my 65 'cuda by a local trimmer. I think he pulled his hair out making it...It's subrella with one vent pole positioned between engine cover and back seat.It pulls down over the rub rail where a drawstring keeps it tight.No snaps on my boat!I also had tabs sewn in every 6 feet for extra tie downs.You can trailer with this cover. It fits really snug and I have to start from the back.It took some getting used to, but works fine on the lift.

	barracuda,look at the EURO designed transoms on these newer boats,the way the corners are rounded off.not much to hold that mooring cover in place.

	I don't have the $$ right now to get a canopy and there isn't enough room in my slip w/ the monster pontoon next to me. The lift is a Lake Shore. Bought it used for $500, then had to pay $350 to move it! I can extend the dock no problem, the covers just don't seem to fit well. It's factory too. The tie down in the back is the worst design possible. I have some rope on the tabs to tie it down to the lift as well. Just don't like to make covering the darn thing a 20 minute job.
