I ski at a private lake with club boat so mine sits apart from the 1-3x a year I take it out just to run it. It's a pristine 98 SN with get this,..269 hours on it. 99% like new upholstery. Carpet is in very good condition.

Getting people to go out on the public lake is problematic because all my slalom buddies are at the private pond. Plus I know 7 people who own boats. When I bought a boat I knew No one with a boat and now it's just a pain to get mine out to run the gas out.

And skiing on public water SUCKS compared to the private lake. The only reason I kept it was someday the private lake will close and I never want to be without a boat.

My fear is that my boat is outside in a carport double tarp rig, but it's not good to sit that much and eventually that time of non operation will create bigger issues

I'm looking to get 10g and a 1 year membership 12g value for this boat. Thoughts?

You can always buy another boat in the future.

Add up the overhead & you will be ahead if you sell.

Probably have come to the wrong place if you are looking for reason...

10g seems really cheap especially if mint and under 300 hours. If my carpets were new and vinyl was new... I wouldn't take less that 15g for my 99 with 740 hours on it.

Have not seen your boat Is it a GT40 engine. Trailer? Is so, and if as described, it is worth 15K or more in the CA market.

I agree on the price.   I would have jumped on your boat at 15k.   I found mine with only 100 hours and it had been garaged for 20 years. They were asking 15 but I bought it for 13.5.
Yours should be a very quick sell.
One more thing to think about, if you sell now it will cost far more to re enter the boat world again.   A 98 is a really fine boat that will hold it's own against many new boats.
Just something to think about.

I’m in about the same boat as you Don. I’m just wishing a buy would fall if the skies and offer me 10k for mine

I wouldn't be concerned with it sitting. Here in the land of the north it is typical to see 20 year old boats with well under 500 hours on them. It is a short season.

My boat mechanic services a number of boats that get used 1 week a year when their owners come in to vacation at their lake house.

As you have space to store it I would vote you keep it.

Keep it, hoarders have weekly meetings to deal with the disease. Most of the folks on this site are at these meetings. They go something like this:

Hello, my name is Donald and I am a hoarder. Hello Donald, we too are hoarders. We check the CCFAN interesting Craig's List finds thread everyday.

It will cost a lot more to replace later and you will not likely find one in the condition to suit you.

Gary,

The first step in getting help is realizing you need help. I just do not want the help.

I have a similar situation. Ski club 5 miles away with a brand new boat every year that I ski 50 sets/year at. Summer cabin with another boat there on a lift. All my ski friends have boats. Yet I have a 2016 in the garage! YOLO, it's a lifestyle.
