Does anyone know how to remove the ski pylon on a 1986 2001.
I unscrewed the 4 nuts holding it in but will not come out |

In addition to the four bolts through the floor, there is a pin and cup "assembly" in the bilge.
Looks something like this. That pin has to come out too. Then should lift right out. Not sure what kind of pin or how easy to remove as my boat predates, or at least never had since Ive had it, a pin. (no, that is not my dirty bilge, it's someone else's dirty bilge on here, as I google imaged for a photo - of course whenever you do that, you always end up being directed to CCF. Where else would you find a picture like that) |

Lift right out!! Right!!!
After we remove all the fasteners we rig up with our overhead hoist and load it up so as we have a direct pull overhead. then we either take a big plastic mallet and pound on the pylon or a big pipe wrench and twist the pylon below the floor or both until it comes out.. Lift right out!! Right !! wait I said that! |

There will likely be a rolling pin in that hole. You will use a punch to push it out.

Yes. Never seen a roll pin at that location, always a bolt.

Yup!! In the infinite engineering wisdom of CC, they put the female cup pointing up so that it collects water and corrodes! They can get real stuck. I too have never seen a roll pin. It's always a bolt. |
